[Naturally, she spends the rest of that day and a good chunk of the following wondering what she should wear. Sally settles pretty quickly on a dress, but goes through far too many possibilities wondering what might be too casual or too fancy. Poor, indecisive, Oink. Finally deciding sod it, she goes with something simple, cute, and nice enough not to get her any backwards looks.
It's not like Victor's going to judge her. He never has. Not so far. And she's starting to really trust that he won't.
So Sally gets to his shop just around closing, ducking inside with a sheepish, characteristic:]
[It's easy to smile whenever he sees Sally. She's quickly becoming someone he really enjoys spending time with. And she's right, he'd never judge her.]
I'll finish cleaning up and then we can go.
[He looks at her for a moment after he's done, smiling wider.]
[Sally takes his arm, feeling a bit silly doing it. Silly...but happy.]
Well, I'd offer, but I'd be absolute rubbish. Unless you're just looking for a secretary, that is. But my day was just fine; been looking forward to seeing you, wondering about all this.
[It's an exclamation that has no real purpose. Sally looks down at their hands and after a moment of calibrating, seems to realize that yes, there's a man holding her hand, willingly, and her whole face lights up. Equally parts elated and bashful, her hand squeezes his as she looks up at his face.]
So, where is it you wanted to show me? Or is this a you'll-see-when-we-get-there kind of situation?
[The building, finally, gives her pause, as well as his suggestion that he carry her. A part of her goes back to Slade House, the place burned so deeply into the far recesses of her subconscious. Not that this building looks anything like it, but nonetheless, there's that little tickle.]
Are you sure? I mean, you're obviously totally strong and all, but I'm...
[She can't bring herself to even say "heavy", so instead, she halfheartedly gestures at herself with her free hand.]
[Doing her best to shake off her nerves, Sally lets out a breath and nods, giving in and clambering onto his back in a way she hopes isn't too awkward. It feels kind of silly, like she's a little kid again, but at the same time...
[The entire thing is incredibly foreign to her. The experience of being so easily carried around, by someone wanting to do that--someone wanting to spend so much time with her in general, really--but scaling the side of a wall like it's nothing...
Sally's heart is beating fast by the time they get to their destination, so even with her feet back on the ground, she stays close, all but attached to his side.]
[Victor had kept it to himself mostly, but he craved this. To know someone wants to spend time with him and not shove him aside once they had their fill.
He wraps an arm around her to help steady her, smiling to himself when he heard her heart racing.]
I went exploring one night and found this building.

[The day that she does have a full social schedule, she figures, is the day that reality has truly flipped.]
I'd love to go with you.

[He may be smiling. It'll be nice getting to spend more time with her.]

Hello?

[He looks at her for a moment after he's done, smiling wider.]
You look beautiful.

[She cannot believe how bashful she still is at this point. Smiling shyly, Sally tucks her hair behind her ears.]
Thank you. Do you...do you want some help? I don't mind pitching in.

[Victor grabs his coat and offers his arm to her like a gentleman. The smile remains.]
Been thinking about hiring some part-time help, if I can find someone interested.
How was your day?

Well, I'd offer, but I'd be absolute rubbish. Unless you're just looking for a secretary, that is. But my day was just fine; been looking forward to seeing you, wondering about all this.

I'm sure I could use a secretary around the shop. Someone to keep track of commissions and such.
[Victor sniffs the air to make sure the coast is clear. You can never know with this city.]

[I wouldn't be a very fun one to look at, she nearly says, but stops and corrects herself first, clearing her throat.]
I'm not so bad with that kind of stuff. Clerical work. I file a mean paper.
no subject
[He grins, linking his fingers with hers as they walked down the street.]
A good reason to spend more time with you, too.

It's a place with a damn nice view. And don't worry about the breeze, I'll keep you warm.
[Benefits of being a big cat of sorts. He soon leads her to the old building.]
Hop on my back, Sally.
no subject
Are you sure? I mean, you're obviously totally strong and all, but I'm...
[She can't bring herself to even say "heavy", so instead, she halfheartedly gestures at herself with her free hand.]

[He crouches a little so she can get a good grip and climb on easily. Victor's curious to see her reaction to the view they're about to share.]
And hold on as tight as you need.
no subject
Well, he really is very warm.]
Alright, I'm good!
no subject
Once they arrive, he sets her down carefully.]
Here we are.

Sally's heart is beating fast by the time they get to their destination, so even with her feet back on the ground, she stays close, all but attached to his side.]
How did you find this?
no subject
He wraps an arm around her to help steady her, smiling to himself when he heard her heart racing.]
I went exploring one night and found this building.
Are you okay? I know that was a long climb.
no subject
[She takes a breath, smiling her usual, sheepish smile as she looks up at him furtively.]
Just not used to it, that's all. This view is...really incredible.
no subject
It is pretty special, huh?
[He finds them a spot to sit down, offering his arms for her to snuggle into, to stay warm.]
It's even better when shared with someone special.
no subject
Someone special, huh?
no subject
Yeah. I feel good around you, Sally... Been a while.
no subject
[She wasn't really expecting a serious answer. But it makes her confront the situation head on, and so Sally gulps.]
I feel good around you, too. For me it's...well, the first time.
no subject
[Victor smiles down at her. He's surprising himself with the seriousness, too. But it feels right.]
It's good to know I haven't scared you. People see me as this big cat who doesn't feel much, but that's a damned lie.
