Do you need a Sub? There's a woman I met at orientation who's just a little bit older than you. She needs someone and you two seem like you have a bit in common.
[It's a good thing she can't read minds. Not that she'd disagree.]
Maybe? I've been talking with this guy from the last finder post who's willing to help me out, but I don't think I'd have to take any kind of responsibility for him as it would just be a way for me to stay out of prison.
[it is an ordinary day, or at least as ordinary as the days ever are in the city of l.i.e.s., when a dapper young warlock comes swanning up to sally's place of employment. he has little trouble finding it; jonathan has done quite well with advertising the institute; ambrose has never been here, but he finds it highly recognizable once he's inside.
he asks for her by name, making no secret of it; she might hear of him before he actually lays eyes upon her. it won't be too long before he's wandered and bothered enough to come converging on her down the institute's sleek, bright modern hallways, calling her name.]
[If Sally wasn't sitting at her desk, she would have probably tripped over herself. It's one thing that someone's asking for her in general (when she first thought she heard her name, she ignored it, writing it off as her over-active imagination because it's not like she knows very many people), and another that the person asking for her is, well, honestly, incredibly hot.
At first, she just stares at him. But then she catches herself, and clears her throat, covering up her work with her arms.]
Yes? Do you, um, need something?
i've ended up contracting for now with someone who was in a rush, lmk if you'd rather drop this!
Yes, [ambrose says blithely-- fuck if she isn't adorable, though.] I've need to make your acquaintance. I'm a friend of your employer's. Well.
[he immediately flops down onto the nearest serviceable furniture, even if it wasn't meant to be sat on.] 'Friend' is a strong word, I suppose. Jon doesn't really seem to do 'friends.' But he said we had great potential to be good friends, and I'm inclined to agree.
[ambrose holds out one hand. a handshake! she looks human, and humans do this.] Ambrose Spellman, at your service.
[The gift arrives to Sally's residence in a box wrapped in gold paper. There's a note with it when she opens the box to find a old-fashioned typewriter along with the accessories needed to make it work.]
Every publishing house ought to have one of these in reserve. Good luck, Sally, and thank you for your help with the building. -J.S.
Tim's gift for Sally and Tim Stoker will be run over by courier, a vibrant redhead who will get her to sign for three packages before disappearing at top speed.
It will be a USB thumb drive which when Sally has a chance to plug into a computer will contain files for an expertly made website for her new publishing company. It has an easy way to automate updates and change section as they please. There's also a contract for a new lease to office space at the Community Centre, something that charges only as much as they're paying for their current premises (exactly in fact, as if he knows) or the equivalent in volunteer hours at the actual Centre itself.
[So maybe she's starting to get used to his compliments. They've certainly been consistent. Still, Sally immediately feels flushed.]
It's been going about as well as it could be, I think. Hard to keep things running without native support but we have a lot if LIER interest and that's what matters most to me.
[Okay, so, getting a message that ominous by an anonymous user is enough to make anyone feel some kind of suspicious. Sally? Immediately, she feels the chills, paranoia gripping at the back of her neck. But what's she going to do, just...ignore it? This is a pretty pointed message.]
Not saying you're wrong or anything, but where'd you hear that?

[Socially awkward with terrible histories.]

I can talk to her. What's her name?

[He sends along her contact details.]
I think she's from the relative past.
50s or 60s, maybe?

[Should she make small talk? Feels like they haven't really talked much lately.]
How'd you meet her?

Her second package will include a couple of lovely little outfits.
The third will be for Tim Stoker.
